What if you can lift big toe by pressing all other toes down but not the other way around? Can holding the big toe and then lifting the other four work?

Zero shoes are good for foot health.

Zero shoes can help strengthen the feet by allowing more natural movement, but they don’t correct foot imbalances on their own. If your brain is getting faulty input from the ground, even minimal shoes won’t fix your posture. They remove the cushion, but not the compensation patterns. You still need to reset the way your brain interprets sensory signals from your feet. That’s the missing piece when it comes to fixing posture and movement at the root.

Some of us don't have feet and toes that shape. Long ago some ill-informed crapopist tried enforcing a only-one-form-of-foot is allowed on me. No, I f..ing do not have bunions, knock knees or all the other "diagnoses" given. However, I do believe a lot of people could benefit from exercising their feet in more effective ways. Go for it, if these exercises suit your foot type.

Thank you for sharing that. It’s not about fixing what isn’t broken, it’s about optimizing what you already have.

Walking barefoot or in sandals can feel more natural, but it won’t correct a foot imbalance if your brain is still getting faulty input from the ground. You’re repeating the same dysfunctional patterns without changing how the brain processes feedback from the feet. That’s why we need tools that actually reset this sensory input, like proprioceptive insoles. When the brain gets the right information, the body can start to align and move better on its own.
